The Polish Ecological Club was founded as a non-profit, non-governmental organisation opposing the view of the environment as an owner-less, valueless property. Their main goal is the practical pursuit of sustainable development through educational activities, and raising environmental awareness in society. The Polish Ecological Club works to make people aware that their quality of life depends on achieving the balance between technological development, humanistic values and wise stewardship of the earth's natural resources, whilst preserving natural, historical and cultural heritage.
The Polish Ecological Club promotes environmentally friendly models of consumption as an alternative to run-away consumerism. Their energy campaigns main goal protecting the air and creating environmental awareness in the scope of energy and transportation issues. They have an organic farming and healthy food programme which promotes alternatives to intensive farming, and coordinates the activities of other environmental organisations in the Baltic States.
They also have a Green Academy educational project, which delivers knowledge on environmental issues to teachers of different subjects, local activists and governments.
